Introduction
The backend that replaces your stack
Merchant of Record
You focus on the product. We handle the paperwork.
tiun acts as your Merchant of Record. That means we are the legal seller to your customer — we handle the full back-office of selling software internationally, so you receive net revenue and never deal with tax authorities, card networks, or refund logistics yourself.
As your Merchant of Record, tiun:
Collects and remits VAT, GST, and sales tax across global jurisdictions
Handles EU B2B reverse charge correctly
Calculates taxes in real time at checkout
Assumes tax liability so you're never the entity audited
Issues compliant invoices automatically
Developer experience
Built for the AI engineering era
MCP server + GitHub Skill
tiun ships with a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server and a GitHub Skill (gh skill install tiun-app/skills) that installs into virtually every major AI coding agent. Your AI agent reads tiun's API as native context, wires up authentication, billing, and entitlements in your codebase, and the integration is live in minutes.

We integrated tiun in an afternoon with Cursor. Auth, billing, and the customer database all just worked. We shipped our first paying customer the same week.

One queryable API
Everything in tiun is queryable through a single SDK. Customer data, subscription state, payment history, entitlements — all of it accessible through one consistent interface. No more juggling webhook payloads from Stripe, Auth0, and a tax service to figure out what your customer can access.
Just tried integrating this for a side project. Worked like a charm. This is an absolute no brainer for future solo builders and founders.

Drop-in components
tiun ships with prebuilt components for the user-facing parts of billing: a checkout that works in every country we support, a self-serve customer portal where users manage their subscriptions, invoice history, and payment methods, and entitlement gates that show or hide features based on plan. Drop them in, style them to your brand.
P.S. Prefer to integrate manually? Install our SDK with npm install @tiun/sdk and follow the quickstart. About an hour of work end-to-end.
Pricing
Better fees. More functionality. No surprises.
The platform is free. You pay only on what you process. The catch with most billing platforms is that the headline rate is rarely what you actually pay. Polar and Lemon Squeezy pass through Stripe's hidden fees, international card surcharges, and currency conversion margins on top of their own rates. We don't pass anything through. tiun's all-in rate is exactly what you see
Methodology: the "all-in" row prices a single international subscription transaction with currency conversion — the scenario where hidden fees actually stack. Domestic transactions come in lower across the board, but most SaaS sells globally. tiun's number includes the 1.5% payout fee. Competitor numbers include Stripe fees they pass through.
What this means in dollars
Fee differences look small. At real revenue, they're not.
Numbers assume 100% international subscription revenue with currency conversion required. Domestic revenue brings costs down, but the relative ranking holds.
At Series A scale, tiun pays for itself many times over against the next-cheapest MoR, and saves you nearly a full engineer-year of cost against Stripe Managed Payments. DIY fees don't include engineering time to build and maintain webhook handlers, entitlement logic, and a customer database — at a $150k loaded engineer cost, even 10% of one engineer's time on billing infrastructure is $15k/year.
Why switch to tiun
Four reasons teams make the move
Built for developers, ready for agents
The SDK ships with sensible defaults. The MCP server and GitHub Skill make agent integration native. The self-serve portal means your customers manage their own subscriptions without opening a support ticket.
You're already paying for the pieces
Most teams pay separately for auth, payments, MoR, a customer data layer, and analytics — plus the engineering time to keep them in sync. tiun replaces all of that. One bill. One dashboard. One SDK.
European infrastructure, global reach
tiun is hosted in Europe and GDPR compliant by default. We sell on your behalf worldwide and handle international tax compliance under our Merchant of Record model.
We listen and ship
tiun is built because the founders kept hitting the same walls as developers. We treat your time as the most important thing we can save, and we iterate fast on what teams actually need.
